Presenting an Agent For Presentations
Presenting an Agent
For Presentations
Context is an AI-agent that generates deliverables to speed up one's workflow. I used motion to onboard users and gain their trust before their first user journey.
Product: enhanced UI to make the wait feel more transparent
Growth: onboarded users via short-form content highlighting product features and user flow

In today's attention economy, we have about 15 seconds to make an impression.
Presentation matters—especially for a presentation-building agent.

OVERVIEW
When AI Deep
Research Takes Time
The AI was doing complex, multi-step work, but all users saw was a “deep research” module.
When users don’t know if something will take 10 seconds or 10 minutes, they leave. It’s a huge drop-off risk.

When users don’t know if something will take 10 seconds or 10 minutes, they leave. It’s a huge drop-off risk.
How might we make the process more transparent to build trust and keep our users coming back?

THE CHALLENGE
When the "S" in "Start-up" Stands For Sprints
The "S" in start-up
stands for sprints.
We had 2 weeks to implement this change.

We initially thought bars for every module would clearly show what was completed (and what wasn't).
However, users found it distracting and confusing.
Instead, we made the progress bar disappear upon completion, shifting the focus on the current task.
Building Around an Ever-Changing UI
During my internship, Context was in beta, meaning its UI was constantly changing. We therefore had to navigate future-proofing this feature.

With Context already integrated with other apps (e.g. Slack, Google Drive, etc.), it could connect with their users like no other, especially with novel features.
Audio Cues to Grab Attention
Hear us out!
We created audio-visual cues (a gentle chime) to welcome the user back.
Not only would this grab their attention, it would also eliminate cognitive load of waiting on our agent.

Designing For Growth
Product isn't just limited to UI; there are other ways to onboard the user, too!
We leaned into brain-rot for our target audience, designing for growth while clarifying our product.

Given the short turnaround and limited resources we had, I learned that:

Good UX design isn't always textbook.
Good UX design
isn't always textbook.
It's not always about affinity mapping, but rather when to adapt, when to SPRINT, and when to validate instincts with demonstrated user behavior.

Microinteractions matter.
Simple features like a progress indicator do LOADS for transparency, trust, and long-term use—reflected in A/B testing.

03
Build for the long-term.
Consider building for assets, but function as well; users actually spent longer waiting without the progress bar, BUT those who saw the progress bar were far more likely to return and complete the flow.
Consider the future, not just for assets, but for function; shorter waits, but more patience/loyalty.
