FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We've got A's for your Q's

Is there anything I need to do before setting up my catalog?

Nope, you just need an Etsy store with at least one product in it. That's it!

Why are there duplicates in my catalog?

Typically if products appear more than once it's because there are several variants and it is formatted this way because this is how the data is provided by Etsy. Reach out to support and we can help you create Product Sets (rules in your catalog) to deduplicate if this is an issue.

I see some yellow error flags in the product catalog within Facebook, why?

Yellow flags are warnings, these are not show shoppers, but rather areas that can be improved. The most common flag is for "Missing Property: google_product_category." This error will NOT stop your campaigns from running, but if you would like to fix it, select a Google Product Category (optional) on the Aarchival Setup tab and we'll handle the rest.

Can you help me setup this catalog?

While we unfortunately are unable to offer full done-for-you services at this time, we do provide support if you get stuck in a particular area. If this is the case, file a support ticket in your account and we will get back to you within 1-2 business days.

I made a change, or added new products, but they won't sync to my catalog.

While updates on our end are nearly instant, Facebook only fetches the feed periodically, by default once every 24 hours. With the premium plan however, we can automatically refresh your feed on an hourly basis.

Can GIFs be used?

They CAN be used but, GIFs do not render on all mobile devices and as a result Facebook does not recommend them.

What fields from Etsy can be pulled into the product feed?

All of the required fields, to include:

  • title
  • description
  • availability
  • condition
  • price
  • link (destination url)
  • image link
  • brand
  • shipping weight

We also pull in a few additional fields to help you with marketing!

What additional fields are pulled in for marketing?

  • tags - listed in the Facebook catalog under custom label 1. Having tags allows you to create subsegments (product sets) of your Etsy Sections within Facebook.
  • style - listed in the Facebook catalog under custom label 1. In case you want to hyper-segment your catalog by style, you will have this option.
  • occassion - listed in the Facebook catalog under custom label 2. If you want to hyper-segment your catalog by occassion, you will have this option.
  • views - listed in the Facebook catalog under custom label 3. Instead of having to see what's trending on Etsy and switching back to Facebook to prioritize those items you can create catalog rules in Facebook based on recent views. Have fun with this!
  • number of favorers - listed in the Facebook catalog under custom label 4. Similar to views, use this data to prioritize advertising the items that are most popular at the moment.
